Kevin Garde, MSc.

Kevin is a Nutrition Consultant specialising in fat loss, body composition, sporting performance and is the founder of PRISM Nutrition.
Kevin’s personal journey into the world of nutrition is somewhat unconventional. It began with an Honours BSc degree in Biological and Chemical Sciences from University College Cork, where he specialised in Physiology for his final two years.
He landed a job in digital products support, with a ‘household name’ global organisation, and, while helping people there, he became increasingly restless to pursue his real dream – his dream to help people in a direct way through their health, well-being and nutrition.
The opportunity to study for a Master’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Nutrition at Loughborough University gave him the key. Nutrition combined Kevin´s passion for food and cooking with science, and enabled him develop amenable practical solutions to helping others achieve optimal performance, body composition and health goals.
Kevin’s interests in nutrition lie predominantly in fat loss, supporting clients to feel more body confident, and designing personalised strategies to optimise elite athletic performance. Working with many fat loss clients, both as a Health and Performance Nutritionist with Mac-Nutrition and, later, as a freelance practitioner, Kevin has accumulated invaluable experience. Additionally, in the sporting performance arena, athletes of diverse sports ranging from highly-trained endurance athletes to senior county-level Gaelic footballers have benefited from his personalised nutritional protocols and recommendations.
As a research-driven practitioner, Kevin is a member of the Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register, the British Dietetics Association, and is an ISAK accredited anthropometrist. To consolidate his many work practices, Kevin founded PRISM Nutrition in 2016. He is passionate about helping people – helping them achieve their goals through education – ensuring nutritional amendments and recommendations are both enjoyable and, critically, sustainable in their everyday lives.
When not helping his clients to achieve their goals, Kevin can be found with his head immersed in the latest nutritional research/scientific literature, listening to health and fitness podcasts, experimenting with new food ingredients and recipes, or watching his beloved Manchester United in the hope of reliving the ‘glory days’…
